Hi! All
I have just joined and think I am going to enjoy this site. My mother was Scottish - a Bain from Dufftown and my father-law- was a Todd from Glasgow. In spite of my Scottish sounding name of McSteen, my father's side of the family originated from Norfolk via Liverpool and Sligo in Ireland and I was born in South London. So if I seem a bit confused sometimes, you know why! I have just started researching the Bain line only to find that my mother and grandmother, my uncle and great uncle plus 2 others were all illigitemate which makes tracing the line a little difficult to say the least. All this in a small place like Dufftown and only over about 40 years. I know there was no television at the time.......
Anyway now you know what I am about.
Be interested in any replies from anyone with similar 'problems'

Most of us have the same problem - I now find it a novelty when there's a birth more than nine months after a wedding!
