Hi everybody,
I'm originally from North Ayrshire and have just started looking up my family tree - who came from Glasgow to Ayrshire via Edinburgh.
I now live in Leadhills and used to work at the museum in Wanlockhead where I spent a fair bit of time helping other people research their genealogy - now it's time to do my own! :)
Still quite an amateur to all this so please be gentle with me, and forgive all the stupid questions I'm bound to ask!  |

Thanks so much for your welcomes everybody. So far it's taken me ages just to look at a few sections on here - feel quite overloaded. Will be back when I have got my head round a bit more.

Thanks again everyone for your welcomes.
Re Leadhills/Wanlockhead - yes I did love working there. I have a particular interest in most things underground (as you may have guessed by my username!) and love exploring caves or old metal mines when I can.
If I can help anyone with local info / photos etc of this area, would be happy to help :) |
