Announcement: Hello from a wee Ayrshire lassie

Hi everybody,
I'm originally from North Ayrshire and have just started looking up my family tree - who came from Glasgow to Ayrshire via Edinburgh.
I now live in Leadhills and used to work at the museum in Wanlockhead where I spent a fair bit of time helping other people research their genealogy - now it's time to do my own! :)
Still quite an amateur to all this so please be gentle with me, and forgive all the stupid questions I'm bound to ask!
