Announcement: Hi to everyone from Liverpool
Posted: malki @ Sat Nov 07, 2009 1:44 pm
Although born and brought up in leafy Shropshire, now an adopted scouser and Evertonian. Parents were both Glaswegians, mother emigrating to Shrewsbury at an early age, my father moving to RAF Shawbury as an aircraft technician at the start of WW2 - they met at a "tea dance" and the rest is history.
Been researching the family tree for about 3 years and have hit the buffers on a number of fronts, with more questions than answers on the "to do" page, such as:-
Father's Grandparents came from Ireland in the 1860's - somewhere around the Co. Monaghan, Fermanagh area, but where?
Mother's father was the illegitimate son of a young Prussian domestic servant in Blytheswood, "adopted" by a young Railway worker and his wife ( just married )- why would they do that?
So, I hope you experts can hopefully give some guidance on where to go next. Watch this space!!
