Announcement: Hi from Long Island, New York
Posted: Galapoochi @ Tue Nov 17, 2009 3:18 pm
Hi everyone - I've been researching my Scottish families from across the pond since 1996, when my dad passed away. Recently had a breakthrough on my grandmother's elusive Robertson side and found a second cousin in Falkirk who I didn't know existed! Hope to break through more of my brick walls through this site. Am presently looking for Ingleby Robertson (1899-1976), and his wife, Janet Morris Deakin Robertson (c1902-1976) - believe they lived in the Possilpark area of Glasgow.
I am willing to do lookups in the NYC area - I visit the archives about once every month or so - or on Ancestry and will be posting info on unwanted SP certificates, etc. soon (Amazing how many William Robertsons there are...)
Names I am researching are:
Robertson (originally from Ballater, Aberdeenshire) and their associated families:
Brown(ie), Milne, Johnston, Shaw, Ritchie, Mitchell, Cowie, etc.
and
Todd (originally from Westfield, Clackmannanshire, then the Polmont area in Stirlingshire)
and their associated families:
Gillespie, Bennie, Baird, Rankine, Walkinshaw, Russell
